Happy Thanksgiving!!

Just wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! Sending love to family and friends, near and far!

Also, I realized I may get judged for blogging today, but let me just tell you that we are a family that excels in multitasking and efficiency!  Family photos and a little time for the photog business.  Killing two birds with one stone!  Momma Driskell's over here sewing a hole in Hagan's pants while cooking a turkey.  See? MULTITASKING. Bam.

So today, I'm thankful for caring family members.  Family that will fix your pants on a holiday.  Family that will pose for photos for you, again.  Family that will sit and look through graphics with you for over an hour for your WEBSITE (more on that later!!! it's gonna be BIG).  Family is precious, and I love mine.  (Thankful also, that the Cowboys are losing.)

But anyway, it's almost turkey time and who can resist that, I mean really.

Happy Thanksgiving!

xoxo,

Meet the Thompsons!

Yay for new clients!  The Thompson family picked out Totopotomoy Battlefield Creek Park for their shoot and oh man, was it a great spot!  From the historic home open to visitors to the field of tall grass and wooden fence to the rustic old barn, it was outdoorsy country charm all the way!  One of my favorite parts about these images is the field of tall grass!  The light was so pretty - the grass sparkles!  It was such a gorgeous setting for photos and I just love how each of them turned out!

Now let me tell you - this family is such a hoot!  The whole shoot, they all kept each other (and me!) laughing and were full of ideas for poses, especially the little ones!  Speaking of which, when I asked Mrs. Thompson what her and her family were looking to get out of this shoot, I just loved her response.  She said that their family is very busy and she hopes that these images can remind her kids how much she and her husband love them!  So my goal this session was to create images that really showed that these kids are the apples of their parent's eyes!

Sparkly grass!!!

Fall 2015 Session - The Lloyd Family

This fall, I decided to start offering two types of sessions because I felt it would better meet the needs of my clients.  In addition to my usual full session, I am now offering a "mini session" during the fall. The full session is really a lifestyle shoot which, in addition to being longer, can include multiple locations and props and has an emphasis on getting candid images.  The mini session, on the other hand, is specifically for those clients looking for their yearly family photo and/or Christmas card photos during the fall.

The Lloyd Family were the first to sign up and it went awesome, if I do say so myself! I am so happy with how these turned out!

CUTEST KIDS EVER

These folks are so photogenic, it really makes my job easy!

Why You Should Visit Crabtree Falls

Who doesn't love fall leaves and crisp air?

To start - my husband's family loves hiking.  I have heard many a-story of these folks scaling the mountains of New Hampshire while visiting their grandfather.  So, Hagan wanted to find a way to bring everyone together while enjoying the changing leaves of Fall!  Virginia is a beautiful state. Truly.  Beaches, mountains, rivers - you name it, we got it!

So, in his search for a nice hiking spot, Hagan came across Crabtree Falls.  It's about a two hour drive from Richmond and well worth the drive despite the nonexistent cell service during JMU's debut on COLLEGE GAMEDAY.  (Amazing in spite of the loss, GO DUKES!!)

We set off and arrived to the base of the Falls at about 12pm.  Parking is SUPER limited, we ending up out on the road.  Be sure to pay your parking fee or Hagan the parking police will be after you!  (Love you)  From there it was a 1.5 mile hike to the top of the Falls and while I wouldn't say it was an easy trek, it wasn't overly steep or grueling.  There were many spots to stop and view the Falls at various heights and at the top the view was AMAZING.  You'll see :)

Such a pretty girl!!

AHHHH the colors!!!
